An Introduction to Your Seiko Watch
There
are many brands of watches available in the watch market today; and one
of the many brands available now is Seiko watch. This is a watch that
is very much in demand not only for personal use, but also as an
official timer for many athletic meets.
It was in
the year 1881 that Kintaro Hattori had opened a clock shop in Tokyo to
start watch making in Japan. The brand of this watch was then Seikosha
and it is this store that was the ancestor of the present Seiko Watch
Corporation. Eleven years after its opening, Hattori had opened a
factory hiring ten employees, where the first dozen clocks were
produced within two months.
It was in
the year 1895 that the first Seiko pocket watch was manufactured. Alarm
clocks followed in the year 1899 to be followed by table and musical
clocks in the year 1902. after all this, Hattori began considering
manufacturing Seikosha wrist watches in the year 1912 wherein his
company produced the first Seikosha wristwatch in Japan. It was finally
in 1924 that Seiko watch brand was created. And it was after 43 years
of the company's inception that the first Seiko wristwatch was created.
Seiko
watches have seen lots of advancements since then in the world of
watches while remaining a powerhouse in the timepiece industry. The
world’s first quartz chronometer was released in the year
1964 wherein it became the official timer of the Olympic Summer Games
of Tokyo. The world’s first quartz wall clock followed suit
in 1968 and it was in 1969 that Seiko watch released the first quartz
watch. Since then, Seiko watches has been introducing many firsts in
the world of watches, which includes the first multi-function digital
watch and the first LCD quartz watch having a six digit digital display.
Seiko watch
has many collections to its name like Sportura, Arctura and Coutura.
Looking at technology, there are many timepieces from Seiko watches
like Kinetic Auto Relay, Chronograph, Kinetic, Analog Digital and
Kinetic Perpetual. It is interesting to learn that most of Seiko
watches are designed so that they are water resistant and thus can be
used when swimming.
Seiko
watches come with a warranty for three years. The warranty for Seiko
clocks is for one year. However, as there is a possibility of some
restrictions and exclusions in the Seiko watch warranty, it is
important that you read the warranty information closely when buying a
time pieces. It is also important to keep a copy of all warranties of
Seiko watches.
Seiko
watches, like other time pieces live a longer life with the right care.
Batteries should be changed when required to prevent its leakage. It is
always better to take the Seiko watch to an authorized Seiko dealer for
battery and minor repairs. If the Seiko watch is under warranty,
further repair and replacement of parts can be done by returning the
Seiko watch to the address of the warranty card where it is done for
free. However, if the warranty has expired, all repair expenses have to
be borne by you. So it can be seen that one of the best watches to own
today is the Seiko watch.
